60 years ago this December, a group of young apprentices at Manlove and Alliott’s engineering firm in Radford decided they would create a works’ football team, building on the success of a charity cricket match they had organised earlier that summer, to give themselves a sporting pursuit to look forward to during the winter months.

And so, on December 20th 1964, at the Co-operative Sports Ground, Lenton,  these pioneers played- and won- their first ever game together.

This December, the club celebrates this phenomenal milestone and over the coming months will be looking to try to bring together as many of the former players of Manloves, Fountain, Radford Olympic and of course, Radford FC to celebrate this wonderful achievement.

More news will follow on social media channels over the coming weeks as we look to reunite and celebrate the very special Radford family!
